Solana Labs CEO Anatoly Yakovenko revealed the Solana Mobile Stack software ecosystem for Android, as well as the appearance of a smartphone called “Saga” that will be released in early 2023. This is the next step in Solana Labs’ massive bet on Web3.

Solana Mobile Stack (SMS) is an Android crypto layer designed to improve the user’s Web3 experience. The feature, according to the company, will work on all mobile devices, not just Android. Furthermore, Solana Labs will launch its own Android smartphone, Saga, early next year. In the near future, this will be Solana Labs’ main product. The smartphone features top-tier specifications such as a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, a 6.67-inch OLED display, 12GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage.

Saga will include a hardware security module that will integrate Seed Vault and protect users’ personal information from exploits and attacks.

The phone will most likely cost around $1,000. Solana Labs is accepting a $100 deposit and will prioritize Solana developers first. Those who pre-order early will receive a limited edition NFT commemorating the phone’s release.

In addition, the Solana Foundation will create a $10 million developer ecosystem fund to support mobile creators.
